Conference Schedule

The didactic program provides a full complement of conferences that explore timely and relevant topics in clinical and anatomical pathology.

In addition to formal rotations, residents learn by attending and presenting at didactic sessions, conferences, and tumor boards. Topics explored in these sessions are diverse and span a number of subspecialities.

  • Protected education time
  • 2-year curriculum schedule 
  • All sessions are presented or moderated by an attending
  • Consist of 
    • Anatomical pathology didactic lectures
    • Clinical pathology didactic lectures  
    • Unknown conferences (with Whole Slide Image preview option) 
    • Gross conferences (hands-on) 
    • Autopsy conferences (hands-on) 
    • CP-call conferences  
    • High Yield Board study sessions  
    • Jeopardy (Questions based focused content) 

 

  • 1/week (Thursday at 12 pm)
  • Internal or guest speakers 
  • Residents are responsible for presenting 1 grand round per academic year 
  • Multiple different subspecialty tumor boards are regularly happening in all training hospitals (~ 50 tumor boards)!
  • Residents are responsible for some tumor boards during related rotations and based on their PGY levels (e.g Malignant heme tumor board during Heme rotation)  
  • Residents are welcome to join any other tumor board to increase their experience
