Offered observerships and visiting resident positions
The program is primarily housed at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island (Lifespan Health System) and is offered in 4-week blocks for post-graduates (candidates must have completed medical school). All applications to be considered for the upcoming academic year (July-June) are due on April 1st. We generally accept one observer for each of the following months: August, September, October, November, April, and May.
To apply for our observership program, please send the following information to Alisha Lima (Observership Program Coordinator) at Alima3@Lifespan.org:
- Up-to-date CV
- USMLE scores
- Personal statement (a brief statement describing your goals and expectations for the observership, your career plans, and why you’ve chosen to apply to the observership program at Lifespan/Brown University)
- Medical School Transcripts
- ECFMG Certificate (if applicable)
- Ranked list of preferred observership months (August, September, October, November, April, and May) during which you are available; please note that August through November is for this calendar, while April and May are the next calendar year.
Packets received in full by the April 1st deadline will be reviewed by the Director of the Observership Program and final decisions will be approved by the Chief of our department.
The program is primarily housed at Women's and Infant Hospital, Providence RI, and is offered in 1 or 2-month blocks. Candidates must be enrolled in a residency program. This program welcomes both national and international residents!
