Fellowships

Fellowships in several areas of pathology are currently offered in our department at participating hospitals: Gynecologic Pathology, Breast Pathology, Neuropathology, Pediatric Pathology, Perinatal Pediatric Pathology, Surgical Pathology, Gastrointestinal Pathology.

Our Programs

Our recent graduates have successfully undertaken fellowships in cytopathology, dermatopathology, surgical pathology, neuropathology, gastrointestinal pathology, gynecologic pathology, hematopathology, pulmonary pathology, and pediatric pathology. Approximately half have taken positions in academic pathology and half in clinical practice.

Dermatopathology

The Fellowship in Dermatopathology prepares trainees for leadership in clinical practice and academic medicine.

Don B. Singer Fellowship in Developmental Pediatric Pathology

This fellowship is a one to two-year, ACGME-accredited training program specializing in pathologic diagnosis of genetic and metabolic disease, infections, neoplasia and malformations, and pediatric forensic pathology and neuropathology.

Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology

The Fellowship in Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology is a one-year training program.

Neuropathology

The Fellowship Program in Neuropathology at Brown imparts diagnostic and research skills to prepare neuropathologists for careers in research and academic medicine.

Genitourinary Pathology Fellowship

The program offers advanced training in all aspects of genitourinary pathology.

Women’s Pathology (Gynecologic, Breast, and Cytopathology)

The Stuart C. Lauchlan Fellowship in Women’s Pathology offers combined training in all three disciplines of women’s pathology--gynecologic pathology, breast pathology, and gynecologic cytopathology.

Women’s and Perinatal Pathology

The International Visiting Fellowship Program in Women’s and Perinatal Pathology at Brown University aims to expand expertise in the diagnosis, testing, and screening of diseases affecting women and newborns worldwide.

Two-Year Research Fellowship

Brown's two-year research fellowship offers an immersive experience in academic pathology.
